ELECTROPLATING PROCESS ENGINEER

Description

Under the direction of the Director of Process Engineering, the Electroplating Process Engineer will commission and support electroplating and ancillary processes, equipment and procedures required for the manufacturing of products created with Microfabrica’s unique Mica Freeform technology.

Responsibilities

Maintain and improve electroplating and ancillary process and equipment.

Develop new process and equipment as necessary to support application requirements.

Employ various electrochemical characterization techniques and reliability tests to understand and improve the performance of the plating processes.

Provide support to production and troubleshoot technical issues.

Support the manufacturing launch of new products.

Compile and analyze data, write reports and present results to team members and management.

Interface with vendors of equipment, components and process materials.

Education & Training

Doctorate degree (or foreign equivalent*) in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Electrical Engineering, or related engineering field.

Required Skills and Abilities

Advanced electroplating techniques, including but not limited to precious metals and alloys

Metrology tools including profilometry, surface and bulk analytical methods relevant to characterization of thin films (e.g. AA, XRF, XPS, XRD, EDX)

Microfabrication techniques

Physical Requirements
