ELECTROCHEMIST

Description

Microfabrica is looking for a driven and experienced Electrochemist to support and improve the company’s manufacturing line.

Microfabrica is an advanced technology company and the world leader in 3D micro-scale additive manufacturing, providing the only high volume, micro-scale, additive manufacturing platform on the market that yields complex metal structures and assemblies at a scale not previously possible.

Responsibilities

This position supports production, R&D and process improvement efforts by commissioning and supporting process, equipment and procedures required for the manufacturing of products created with Microfabrica’s unique Mica Freeform technology.

The candidate filling this position will:

Maintain and improve the established electroplating process and equipment

Provide support to production and troubleshoot technical issues

Support the manufacturing launch of new products

Train manufacturing personnel

Interface with vendors of equipment, components and process materials

Maintain product quality through compliance with the companies ISO 9001 and ISO 14385 certification

Education & Training

Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Material Science or related field preferred

Six sigma or statistical process control training a plus

Preferred Experience

Experience with electrochemistry and analytical chemistry in high tech plating industry (MEMS, semiconductor or PCB), including bath analysis and maintenance

2-5 years in a manufacturing environment

Statistical Process Control experience preferred

Requirements

Thorough understanding of electrochemistry principles

Strong statistical analysis and data mining capabilities with tools like JMP and Excel

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to write technical specification and procedures

Ability to prepare technical reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends

Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of tools

Excellent time management and multitasking skills
